Sneak Peak–The new vWork Signature Screen

Signature Screen

We’ve been busy this month improving how signatures are captured on the iPhone. We’ve improved the usability, as well as sneaking in a bunch of new features. Here’s a sneak peak of what’s new and improved:

  • New Look and Feel. We’ve redesigned the signature screen so that it’s clearer to the person signing what they need to do, and where they need to do it. After all, this screen is put in front of your customers, so it needs to look sharp.

  • Smooth Signatures. Many ‘Sign on Glass’ applications only pay lip service to the concept—the signatures they capture are illegible (e.g. jagged lines and rectangles that look nothing like a signature). The vWork signature screen is a pleasure to write on and captures every nuance of the signature.

  • Name and Timestamp. You can now enter a name along with a signature. This is useful when you need to know who’s signature you’ve captured. The date and time that the signature was captured is also printed along with the signature.

  • Photo Attachments. Finally, we’ve included the ability to attach a photo to a signature. There are many different problems that this could be used to solve; for example, it could be used to document existing damage to a work site, or to document that you’ve truly finished a job. A signed photo leaves no room for dispute.

The new vWork Signature Screen (for iPhone) is due to be released later this month. As always we welcome any feedback. Just post it in the comments below, or get in contact with us directly.
